BSc (Hons) Acupuncture
I was blessed to grow up in the beautiful village of Llanberis, nestled in the heart of Snowdonia. My childhood was full of outdoor adventures with my friends, climbing trees, building dens, cycling, and rollerskating. Alongside the fun, there were also challenges that taught me resilience, self-reflection, and the importance of creating a supportive, nurturing environment for myself and others.
My professional journey began when I became a piercer, a role that taught me precision, compassion, and how to help people feel comfortable and confident in their own skin. At 19, I also became a mother, an experience that shaped me deeply. Raising my daughter has been one of the most meaningful parts of my life, and I’m incredibly proud of the bright, kind and funny young woman she’s become as she has recently flown the nest to attend university.
Driven by a fascination with the body’s natural healing abilities and human physiology at a cellular level, I went on to achieve a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Acupuncture. During this time, I developed a deeper understanding of the body’s healing intricacies, something that was further enriched earlier on when I attended a Wound Healing Dynamics class at a piercing conference I return to annually. That class, taught by a microbiologist, opened my eyes to the remarkable complexity of tissue repair at a cellular level and reinforced my desire to learn more about the body’s capacity to heal and protect itself.
This grounding in traditional Chinese medicine, combined with modern holistic approaches, gave me the foundation to offer personalised treatments supporting everything from pain relief and hormonal balance to stress, anxiety, digestive issues, migraines, insomnia, and overall well-being.
My love for skincare grew alongside my studies. I’ve always been captivated by the fact that our skin is the largest organ of the body, a remarkable protective barrier that shields us from external pathogens and constantly works to maintain homeostasis. Because of this, I’m passionate about helping people care for their skin from the outside in, and vice-versa, supporting it with treatments that respect its function, integrity, and natural ability to heal.
As someone who suffered with acne and eczema for most of my life, I understand how frustrating, uncomfortable, and emotionally draining these conditions can be. Through my own journey, I discovered the benefits of therapies such as phototherapy and the importance of using medical-grade, chirally correct skincare that the skin can truly recognise and absorb. This personal experience continues to shape my approach to helping others care for and understand their own skin.
Like many people, I also experience mental health challenges, which gives me a deeper understanding of the importance of self-care and holistic well-being. As an LGBTQ+ practitioner, it’s very important to me that everyone who comes through my door feels safe to be themselves.
After completing my degree, I created Golden Aura Clinic, which is a warm, inclusive space designed to help people feel safe, supported, and truly cared for. My ethos is simple: to help others feel better both physically and emotionally, and to make self-care a meaningful act of empowerment rather than a luxury.
Outside of work, I enjoy yoga, swimming, climbing, travelling and going to music gigs. I’m always exploring new ways to grow personally and professionally so I can continue offering the best possible care to everyone who walks through my door.
As a one-woman business, I do my very best to give each client my full care and attention, and I deeply appreciate the understanding that I’m human too.
